Dominik Mjartan

Dominik Mjartan serves as Senior Vice President of Southern Bancorp Inc., one of the oldest and largest development banks in America. Dominik manages Southern’s corporate strategy, communications, marketing, public relations, capital development, impact reporting, governmental affairs and investor relations. Southern is a development bank with $1.1 billion in assets, 40 branches and over 80,000 customers. Southern’s mission is to create new economic opportunities for people in the most distressed rural communities in the South by providing them with responsible and responsive financial and development services.

Prior to joining Southern, Dominik served as a Program Director of Perks.com, an IT company providing global services to Fortune 500 companies. He earned an MBA at the University of Ulster (UK), graduating at the top of his class. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and as a Donaghey Scholar with a B.S. in management from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is the past-chairman of the board of the EAST Initiative Inc. and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Energy Network, the Community Development Bankers Association, the CDFI Coalition and Grantmakers for Education. Dominik came to the U.S. from the former Czechoslovakia at the age of 16 with hopes of earning the American Dream, a dream he now strives to make attainable to the most disadvantaged people in America.
